The DVD, shot in North East Victoria aims to entertain and educate anglers about Murray Cod and does just that to perfection.

The DVD not only shows magnificent Cod being caught but is also incredibly informative and delves into the history, breeding habits, threats and many more interesting facts about Murray Cod. There is an entire chapter on correct catch and release practices along with tips and tricks to catching this great species throughout the DVD.
The DVD focuses solely on lure fishing covering all aspects of this great sport. From the bank, structure, boats and canoes this DVD illustrates the need to get to where the fish are hiding.

The DVD is very much aimed at informing the anglers of the plight of the Murray Cod and how we can best preserve the species so we can continue our favorite pastime.

Luring Murray Cod
This is a fantastic production set in the Tamworth district of NSW, hosted by Dean McFarlane and Michael Poulos.

Every fish you see caught in this production, whether it was a Murray Cod smashing a cast and retrieved spinnerbait or a strike whilst trolling the impoundments, the camera was rolling and you see all the action as it happened. The camera was not just turned on when the fish was hooked like in so many other productions!

The DVD, as the name implies. deals primarily with Murray Cod and the fishing techniques it is receptive to. These include spinnerbaits, soft plastics, hard-bodied diving lures and surface lures used in a variety of locations.

All the artificials used in this production with amazing results. The general hints and tips throughout this production will definitely help you get connected with these “Green fish”.

Dean and Michael promote the AusSpin spinnerbaits throughout this production and from my experience I can agree and recommend these spinnerbaits when fishing the Murray River. The video features the guys using the TwinSpin and QuadSpin Spinnerbait designs in the rivers around Tamworth to produce the goods that would excite any lure fisherman not just the Murray Cod angler.

This film is exciting, well produced, informative and demonstrates great handling practices. I would recommend this to freshwater fisherman everywhere. (Rating 5/5)
