JD Lures are the new kid on the block in chasing metre plus cod. A huge range for any depth and are a proven winner when it comes to crash diving at a radical rate.

Firstly you have the 150 Super Bug which will displace huge amounts of water and excite any shutdown fish. Secondly is the 140mm Python Crash Diver which is my favourite at the moment. On the cast this lure is unrivalled for achieving depth fast; notice the painted bib to excite large cod from their slumber.

The Fourth is of the new range 100mm Pythons which is starting to make its mark on the cast. JD Pythons seem to have a great hook up rate too, maybe due to the slimmer body style. These hard bodied lures have accounted for 80% of the metre cod landed by the Cod Muster crew.

The Cod Muster boys have teamed up with the Outlaw Spinner Baits crew and they are making inroads into the big fish market. It’s only been a few trips but some sizeable cod have appeared with these spinner baits hanging from their lips with the biggest so far measuring 117cm.

From all the bladed lures I’ve seen the Outlaws have the biggest range and are the heaviest built by a mile. I’m sure there will be some more magical mark fish landed with these boys before the season ends.
